Investigation of Internet Addiction and its Related Factors in College Nursing Students, Islamic Azad University of Dezful in 2015

Abstract
Background and Aim: Internet is a modern technology, which in recent years has become an important part of the lives of Iranians, especially students. Excessive internet use is addictive for students, and its prevalence is increasing. Therefore, this study which aimed to check the status of Internet addiction and its related factors in nursing students of Islamic Azad University of Dezful was conducted in 2015.
 Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study with the random sampling of 200 students of Islamic Azad University, Dezful, the data collecting tools were, the demographic questionnaire and the Yang test internet addiction. Data were analyzed using the software SPSS (version 16) and Chi-square test and Pearson correlation coefficients were analyzed.
 Results: The results show that 31.5 percent of students are healthy and 68.5 percent of students have Internet addiction. There was a significant relationship between internet addiction and the age of the students under study (P>0.05).
 Conclusion: Due to the expansion of Internet-mongering among students, designing and implementation of educational programs that aim to increase as much knowledge as possible and inspire healthy behavior among students, especially nursing students seem to be necessary.
