Treatment and Prevention of Insect and Vicious Animal Bites based upon the Wisdoms of Sayyed Mohammad Beli Tonekaboni

Abstract
Background and Aim: The Tohfeh of Hakim Momen was the main practiced medical book for nearly three centuries and was widely used in Iran versus the Ibn Sina law, Nafisi, and the Great Karabaddin, and is still widely credited and used by practitioners of traditional medicine. The purpose of this study was to investigate the treatment and prevention of insect and vermin bites from Seyyed Mohammad Momen Tonekaboni's point of view of in his book "Tohfatol-al Momenin".
Materials and Methods: This is a descriptive study and a case study investigating insect and vermin bite prevention from the fourth diagnosis of the Book of Tohfeh Hakim Momen, from the Medical and Pharmaceutical books of the Safavie era, authored by Mohammad Momen ebn Myrza Mohammad Zaman Hosseini Tonekaboni Deylami.
Results: In Hakim Momen's book, for the treatment and prevention of insect and vermin bites, it is recommended to use the following: Everglades, Boiled Peel and Berries Extract, Berries Egg, Beef Dung, Vinegar, Ephesine, Lemon Leaf, Basil, Lemon juice, zernich (arsenic sulfur), nadir (ammonium chloride) and beef tallow, peppermint, blackberry leaf extract, savory with honey, raw spinach, onion, and fig with walnut and cows oil.
Conclusion: This book is highly valued in the fields of medicine and medicinal herbs. The book can be used for clinical trials especially in the treatment and prevention of insect and animal bites.
