Introduction: Alienation from work is a cognitive sense which leads to the separation from work and workplace. This results in such dimensions as powerlessness, meaninglessness, anomie and isolation. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between alienation from work and personal characteristics of nurses at university hospitals in Boroujerd in 1393
 Materials and Methods: The present study based on the type of data is a qualitative one. And in terms of dealing with analysis and survey it is a field study. The participants 169 Persons were recruited by simple random sampling. The eligibleparticipants were nurses working with a high school diploma or a higher degree in the city of Boroujerd Chamran and Imam Khomeini hospitals in 1393. A questionnaire was used to collect data on the alienation from work. In this study, Cronbach’s alpha’s reliability was 0.84 Data collection was completed through self-administered questionnaires. In order to analyze the results, SPSS software version 18 was used.
 Results: The results showed that, the direct correlation between the alienation of the working medium and the studied variables, marital status (r=0.289, p=0.027) Sex (r=0.325, p=0.000) Education (r= 0.456, p=0.000) positions (r= 0.252, p=0.000) two positions (admin and non-admin) (r=0.469, p=0.005).
 Conclusion: The results showed that the alienation of the individual from work there is a certain variables. Therefore, the issue of the managers is essential.
