Investigating the clinical and paraclinical manifestations of hospitalized patients with covid-19 in the selected medical training center of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences: a cross-sectional study

Abstract
Background and purpose: The outbreak of a new infectious disease, which was finally named the 2019 coronavirus. The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the clinical and paraclinical characteristics of hospitalized patients suffering from covid-19 in the selected medical training center of Bu Ali Sina, Qazvin.
Methods: A total of 324 hospitalized patients with covid-19 (149 women and 175 men) were selected and included in the study using the available sampling method. After collecting the data, they were analyzed using SPSS version 23 software. Mean and standard deviation was used to describe quantitative data, and number and percentage were used to describe qualitative data. In all stages, a significance level of less than 5% was considered.
Results: In the present study, the most common symptoms among the patients were shortness of breath, weakness, lethargy, and anorexia. In terms of the clinical symptoms of fever after hospitalization, chills, dry cough, runny nose, abdominal pain, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, and cardiac symptoms, there was a significant difference between the deceased and surviving groups. Pulmonary lesions with ground glass pattern were the most common findings in lung scans of patients.
Conclusion: In multivariate logistic regression analysis, respiratory symptoms, dry cough, headache, chills, radiological findings of consolidation, laboratory signs of lymphocyte reduction, also among the demographic factors of age and underlying diseases Chronic kidney damage and hypothyroidism were significant.
